Try out the Altbier in Dusseldorf and this is particularly popular
in the Altstadt. Beer fans should try the local bars named, Im
Goldenen Kessel, Im Fuchschen and at Zum Uerige. Some other traditional
pubs are Weinhaus Tante Anna, and Zum Csikosz as well as the oldest
of all which is the En De Canon.
Grab a coffee at Op de Eck at the Grabbeplatz or also in many cafes
along the river. On Ratinger Strasse one can enjoy a relaxed setting
in the Ohme Jupp, Zur Uel or Schlonz as well as Zum Goldenen Einhorn.
The street is decked with chairs on warm evenings and it turns
into a giant outdoor pub.
For the spectacular views go to Burgplatz and the Rhine promenade
are great places and the Goldener Ring has a great beer garden.
If you want to have a nice beer on the river, try the Rheintreue
or Kollers Kahn, which are boats on the Rhine, that are to be found
just off the Oberkasseler Bridge.
The famous loreley-poet, Heinrich Heine was born at a house at
Schnabelewobski and where you can relax and visit or why not go
to a rock bar close by.
Clubs
Mauer, Poco Loco, Unique Club are all clubs in the city as well
as Baby Love which is more a bar than a club. The Rave centre is
in the likes of Ratinger Hof and Anacaonda Electric Lounge.
For trendy professional hang outs go to Bankers Boulevard or even
be seen in Checkers, where the famous Claudia Schiffer was discovered.
Sams is also close to Konigsallee. For designers and media types,
the place to be seen is MK-2 club.
In the industrial areas, one can visit Tor 3 and the Stahlwerk.
The Zakk offers different theme discos and also caters for over-30s.
