The Düsseldorfer Karneval
September 5th, 2006The Düsseldorfer Karneval (or carnival, also known as the ‘fifth season’) begins each year on the 11th of Novemeber at 11:11am. The carnival is one of the biggest cultural events in the city, and it is an extremely popular tourist attraction. Each year, street performers and musicians from across the globe take part in the Düsseldorfer Karneval, which reaches an end on Rosenmontag (Rose Monday) with a huge parade through the city. The nearby cities of Mainz and Colonge also take part in the festivities.
